With well set ears Rottweiler looks too beautifully. Middle-sized, hanging on gristles, of triangular shape, highly set; when dog Rottweiler is prick-eared his ears extend the line of forehead and visually widen it. They are wide-spaced, forward pointing with inner edges close fitting to the head (cheek-bones), terminating at approximately mid-cheek. Defaults: Heavy hanging ears, low-set, thrown back, long ears. Neck of Rottweiler is moderately long with slightly prominent counter line; dry and without brisket or suspension loop on the throat. Neck is accountable for move of the head. When examining the dog’s neck dog experts give special consideration to development of muscles, length and shape of head. Grown-up Rottweiler must have muscular mid-sized neck. Back of the dog must be upright, powerful and strong. Coupling is short, powerful and deep. Hives is wide, middle-sized, slightly rounded, not upright and not tapered. Chest is space-occupying, wide and deep (approximately 50% of the height at withers), with well-developed fore part and well-hooped (round arched) feathers. Belly: inguen is not tucked up. Tail: when properly set it gives an impression of elongation of upper part. Carried slightly above horizontal when the dog is moving. The set of the tail is more important than its length.
