    Body build of dog Rottweiler, his hereditary characteristics and  strength of backbone are determined by his head’s constitution.  The shape of head and points are of primary importance for this dog breed. Several  types of Rottweiler’s head are allowed according to the breed  standard. They are: normal, proportional, heavy and light. Heavy  type of the head corresponds to big, massive skull, heavy  skeletal part and pronounced muscles. Light head is  characterized by prolate, narrow skull with thin, light  framework and underdeveloped muscles. Normally, Rottweiler’s  skull must be medium-sized with big distance between the ears;  frontal part must not protrude much. Well-developed inion  features properly formed skull, however, inion must not be too  prominent. Slight nasal bridge, broad at base. Forehead line is  seen in profile and moderately arched. Head length is the run  between top of inion to endpoint of nose. Head breath is  measured at its widest part. The measuring line goes across  middle part of forehead and maxillary arches disposed before the  ears. Ideally, the length of snout must be a little more than 10  cm in males, and 9 cm in females. As a rule, proportion of  snout’s and skull’s lengths is to be considered. Head and corpus  of the dog are to be proportional to one another.
